Tammy Rossiter
Health & Safety Advisor
A family run business in construction, and a passion for keeping staff safe saw the beginning of my Health & Safety journey.
Along with my Level 6 NZ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety in the Workplace I also have NZISM Professional Accreditation.
Previously I was employed at Enterprise Recruitment where I have gained valuable knowledge about Occupational Health and Safety Systems (OHSMS) for various industries and managing safety for internal workers and external clients. My time at Mike Greer Architectural was where I received practical construction knowledge in the H&S industry and was encouraged to continue my professional development in Health & Safety.
I was a member of the Canterbury Safety Charter who invited me to participate in the Canterbury Safety Leaders Group which involves planning for the Charter events for members and non-members such as workshops and networking opportunities.
Who we are
Canterbury Safety Lady Ltd is a small Health & Safety business run and owned by Tammy Rossiter, aiming to help other businesses in construction (and more!) to ensure the wellbeing of themselves and their team. We acknowledge the importance of your people and provide specialist Health & Safety advice and plans that are personalised for your company.
We're proud to be locally owned and based in Canterbury, with a deep understanding of the region’s construction culture. When you work with us, you’re partnering with someone who knows the local industry, regulations, and the real challenges faced on Canterbury worksites.
Our Safety & Wellness Vision
Our priority is to help contractors to keep all employees safe and well through the identification and management of risks and continuous improvement processes. Accidents are preventable!
This can be achieved by:
Proactively identifying hazards and take steps to manage them
Promoting employee engagement of Health & Safety and Wellbeing in the workplace
Meeting legislative requirements and understand industry risks
Providing training for workers to ensure they have knowledge of H&S matters that relate to them
Using a process to promote continuous improvement - Plan -Do- Check- Act
